Guilt-free apple crumble

Autumn is coming – season of apples, and who doesn’t like a good apple dessert? This one is an all times British favourite, apple crumble…. the healthy way but yet full of flavour!

Serves 4

For the crumble:
2 sliced medium size apples (better to use sweet and sour variety, this recipe uses Granny Smith)
1 tbsp honey
2 tsps cinnamon
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup shredded coconut
3 tbsps coconut oil (liquid)
2 tbsps coconut sugar
Butter for greasing (optional but adds a nice rich flavour)

For the custard in your food processor blend:
1 banana
1/4 avocado
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp vanilla (use powder, or scraped bean or extract – watch out for nasties though)
Pinch of salt

Heat up the oven to 170 C.
Grease up a medium sized shallow dish with butter,  and throw in apples combined with honey and 1 tsp cinnamon.
Mix up oats, coconut flakes, rest of cinnamon and coconut sugar. Add in coconut oil and lay the mixture over the apples.
Bake for 20 min, take out, plate up and spoon custard on top, bon appetite!
